An evening of season & story
Inspired by ancient midsummer celebrations and the summer solstice, A Summer’s Evening: A Feast with Faeries and Firelight transforms Waverly Springs across two enchanting evenings in July.
Structured in four acts and twelve courses, the experience unfolds gradually through music, movement, atmosphere, and moments of surprise woven throughout the estate. Designed around the lingering light of the solstice, the evening invites guests to settle in, wander slowly, and remain awhile.

Faery Hour &
Strolling Reception
The evening opens outdoors in the lingering light of the solstice. Seasonal pours, early courses, and music drift through the gardens as guests settle into the rhythm of the night.
Act II:
Threshold &
Table Adornment
As daylight begins to fade, the experience moves indoors. Long tables, flickering candlelight, layered courses, and a transformed dining room bring warmth and intimacy to the heart of the evening.
Act III:
Fire & Smoke
The third act deepens into something moodier and more atmospheric. Firelight, smoke, music, and unexpected moments emerge across the estate as the night stretches on.
Act IV:
Bonfire & Cordials
Dessert arrives slowly beneath the summer sky as music, movement, and firelight carry the evening toward its final moments, inviting guests to remain awhile beneath the solstice night.
Inspired by Seasonal
Gatherings
For generations, summer evenings were marked by outdoor feasts, music, storytelling, firelight, and time spent together long after sunset.
A Summer’s Evening draws inspiration from those traditions, reimagined through food, atmosphere, and the landscape of Waverly Springs by James Beard finalist Chef Tarver King. Guided by a devotion to craft and a deep respect for the land, the evening reflects the warmth and abundance of the season at its fullest expression.

I know a bank where the wild
thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding
violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with
luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses, and
with eglantine.
